The Stunning But Greedy Lionfish, is a 27 x 27 poster that delivers information about the indigenous species of Lionfish. Using a 9 x 9 grid, I was challenged to put as much information about the dangers of this invasive species and highlight specific characteristics such as it’s native location, prey, and anatomy. Since it was a big canvas and lots of information, I wanted to utilize every inch but still create a well-organized poster that gives viewers breathing room in between bits of information. When it came to designing the canvas, I wanted a legible typeface for quick navigation and easy comprehension and a primarily blue color palette to give the illusion that spectators are in the same environment as this life-size lionfish.
